English Corner

This is a free class for international students, scholars and their family members who have a basic understanding of English and who are looking for an opportunity to practice and improve.

Your teachers are:  Geri Briggs, Sarah Menefee, Betsy Ayers and Mary Hargitt, and Jessica Berger.

English Corner at Crosswalk Commons offers a range of activities to help you improve your English: 


Pronunciation and Dictation Class (12:30-1:30) 

activities and exercises to learn and practice English rhythm and pronunciation 


Listening and Comprehension Skills Class (1:30-2:-30)

practice with listening and reading; done in large and small group settings using selected stories from the Bible as literature


Idioms, Culture, and Conversation Class (2:30-3:30)

presentation of idioms and cultural topics. Conversation is practiced in small group discussions, activities and games 


The class is at Crosswalk Commons (925 Hilltop Drive) at the northwest part of campus. When classes are in session, City Bus 15 - Tower Acres - has a stop near the location.




English Corner at Crosswalk is a place where you will find…other people just like you…people who are living in a new country, speaking a new language, experiencing new things.
